Long-term Erasmus+ project gets jump-start in Angra do Heroísmo

On the 24th and 25th of November 2018, a long-term Erasmus + project called Islandes Network (I-Network) had its official start. The launch meeting took place in Startup Angra, in Angra do Heroísmo, and brought together the five Youth NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) that are part of the project. This is a Strategic Partnership established with the support of the Portuguese Erasmus+National Agency Youth in Action for long-term projects within Key Action 2.

I-Network lasts for 24 months and aims to promote and encourage the entry of young people living on European islands in the tourism job market, through the creation of internship programs (jobshadowing) and a Helpdesk (an online platform for the support and promotion of employment opportunities in the field of tourism in the different partner islands). AJITER - Youth Association of Terceira Island, is the partner that hosts the international project preparation meeting because it is also the coordinating association of the I-Network. ENOROS (Cyprus), PRISM (Italy), Osília (Estonia) and Mojo de Caña (spain) join the team.

The I-Network project is a challenge for the future of AJITER due to its complexity and the wide spectrum it intends to embrace. Assuming the role of coordinator, the NGO from Terceira intends also to be a solid base for youth development, constituting a stable bridge between the islands and Europe.
