Roadshow “40 years since Portugal joined the European Communities”

AJITER was represented in Lisbon on 12 June by its President, Décio Santos, at the launch of the Roadshow organised by the National Agency for Erasmus+ Youth/Sport and the European Solidarity Corps, which this year is dedicated to the 40th anniversary of Portugal's accession to the European Communities, promoting reflection among young people on the impact of European integration and its role in building the future of Europe.
Between 12 June 2025 (the date marking 40 years since the signing of the Accession Treaty) and 1 January 2026 (40 years since accession came into force), the Roadshow will tour the 18 districts of mainland Portugal, with interactive sessions to raise awareness, encourage participation and provide information. It will also visit the Azores, albeit in an adapted format.
The focus will be on the transformations brought about by Portugal's integration into the European project, but also on the current opportunities provided by the European Union.
As in previous editions, the Roadshow will have an interactive and itinerant format, integrating digital content, non-formal education methodologies and activities involving direct contact with young people. In 2025, the aim is also to develop materials inspired by Portugal's 40 years of European integration, highlighting key moments in the process, transformative testimonies and future challenges for young people in Europe.
