VII “Angra com Futuro” Fair highlighted the “TEXTIL” project

The seventh edition of the “Angra com Futuro: Entrepreneurial Projects and Training Exhibition” Fair took place on 7, 8 and 9 November, once again held – as in the two previous editions – at the Multipurpose Pavilion of the Multisectoral Park of Terceira Island, in Angra do Heroísmo.

Based on the model consolidated in six previous editions - between 2015 and 2023 - the seventh edition did not disappoint, allowing the importance and notoriety of the event to be affirmed among the Terceira public, evidenced by the increase in visitors and the diversity of the projects on display, as well as the quality of the representations present.

In total, around 40 projects from a wide range of areas were present, ranging from scientific research projects from the University of the Azores, PhD or research projects in the area of textile waste utilisation, to technological development using Artificial Intelligence (AI), interior design architecture using 3D technology, 3D printing, gastronomic innovation projects based on local products, recycled decorative items, multifunctional handmade textile creations based on the use of textile waste, veterinary management, clothing and sewing, and sustainable mobility based on the use of electric vehicles (EV).

Entrepreneurship related to the development of the creative and fashion sector and sustainability was also a focus within the strategy that this organisation has been developing as part of the ‘TEXTIL’ project, which brings together partners from the Azores, Madeira, Cape Verde and the Canary Islands and is funded by the INTERREG MAC 2021-2027 programme. It had a special highlight in this edition of the Fair, as well as the already vast diversity of projects mentioned above.

During the morning, representatives from the University of Las Palmas and AJITER took to the stage and shared the TEXTIL project with everyone present, as well as all the environmental issues associated with textile waste.
