“NOT SKIP” Project on Participation Begins in Poland
The international conference that marked the launch of the project "NOT SKIP: Network of Organizations for Promoting Skills for Participation" began between October 14th and 17th in the city of Łódź in Poland. The consortium of organizations from 6 countries includes AJITER, as the Portuguese representative.
AJITER was present with a delegation of 5 participants from Terceira in this initiative, which was organized by the Polish organization “Dolina Rzeki Grabi”, a Local Action Group (LAG) and part of the partnership as the representative of that country.
This project is part of the CERV programme, financed by the European Union's Justice, Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Fund (CERV) and will run for two years, until 2026. Its action plan includes several conferences and other activities whose main objective is to promote skills for the promotion of civic participation among the population.
In this first phase, which was attended by 30 representatives of the 6 nationalities that make up the project, as well as around 150 young students from local schools, the focus was on the question “How can participation in decision-making processes at EU level be effectively promoted to invest in the future of the EU?” with the participation of several speakers. There was also space for the technical coordination of the entire project and its action plan, as well as contact with the local reality, in the political, social, historical, cultural and economic domains.
As part of the delegation, the President of AJITER, Décio Santos, had the opportunity to present the institution to those present and to promote the island of Terceira.
This project is coordinated by the organization Fattoria Pugliese Diffusa APS (Italy) with the participation, as already mentioned, of the Youth Association of Terceira Island - AJITER (Portugal), Musninkų kaimo bendruomenė (Lithuania), Municipality of Fyli (Greece), Asociatia NamelessArt (Romania) and the Local Action Group „Dolina Rzeki Grabi” (Poland).
