Azores submit 26 applications to the ‘Youth4ORS’ programme

A total of 26 eligible applications were submitted by young people and organizations from the Azores for financial support from the ‘Youth4ORS’ project.

This European support programme, which will reward projects aimed at young people with amounts ranging from 5 to 10,000 euros, is the responsibility of the Startup Europe Regions Network (SERN) in partnership with AJITER in the Azores, and is an initiative that will be extended to other partnerships and other outermost regions such as Madeira, the Canary Islands, Saint Martin, Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Mayotte and Réunion.

Young people, individually or in teams, and organizations working with young people have been invited to propose actions to improve their local communities or regions and promote development - on any issue or topic they consider important.

Eligible candidates must be aged between 15 and 24 and reside in one of the outermost regions involved.

Applications were open on the project website until 27 May, and during July the projects selected for funding will be announced so that implementation can begin in early September.

In total, 166 eligible applications were submitted in all the regions covered.

The selection process is carried out by a Selection Committee made up of a group of professional evaluators. The final list of actions selected for funding will be approved by the European Commission.

All the information about this project can be consulted on its official website at https://youth4outermostregions.eu/, which will give details of the projects that have been selected and their implementation, as will happen in the Azores with the AJITER website,www.ajiter.pt.

‘YOUTH 4 OUTERMOST REGIONS’ is co-financed by the European Union and aims to support a New Generation of Young Agents of Change for Inclusive and Sustainable Development".
